OBJETIVOS

Kinetoplastids and A. mellifera health: The kinetobee project pretends to generate a wide collection of kinetoplastid isolates (species and strains) from apiaries located in the South of Granada (Andalusia, Spain). With this high-throughput isolation protocol, the study of the life cycle and the damage produced by those pathogens will be perfectly approachable. Moreover, the axenic cultures generated will allow for further biochemical characterization and genome sequencing of low and highly pathogenic kinetoplastid isolates.

In vivo cell tracking of kinetoplastid bee pathogens. Novel natural compounds against bee-infective kinetoplastid parasites.
